Somatic and Sensory Writing

What does intentional sensory somatic engagement mean?

Let’s answer a question with some questions?

When was the last time you turned your full attention to nature in your environment?

Bird song at dawn and twilight?

Watched the sway of trees in a Spring breeze?

Smelled the scent of leaves decaying in the park in Autumn?

Felt the bristle of grass underfoot, without your shoes on?

These are examples of somatic engagement with nature. When we turn our full attention to the senses, sight, smell, touch and hearing, we can translate the information we receive from nature into poetic language and creative images.

We can also be fully alert to nature's energies when we turn our full attention to its presence.
